Well, the results of the peaker plant hot potato has been decided. King Township is the big loser. I always believed that it would be in East Gwillimbury or King and King pulled the short straw.
The big power users in Newmarket and Aurora are off the hook. Their good citizens can go on wasting electricity and will hardly even know a peaker plant exists. I think it should have gone smack in between them, say on Bayview Ave south of Mulock. It would be a constant reminder of their electricity use and the need to conserve.
When the noisy, polluting peaker plant kicked in people would know it was time to turn off the air conditioner and lights.
